Splatterhorn at Seal Rock Print
from $10.00
This is CRC-21415 "Splatterhorn" doing quite the wonderful acrobatics display. This was taken on June 15th, 2023, less than a mile off of Ocean Beach in San Francisco. To be honest, this jump was actually kind of terrifying in the moment. Splatterhorn went for a dive, and before we knew it- BAM! They do a full breaching maneuver no more than 100 yards in front of the bow of the boat. Splatterhorn really took me, and all of the other passengers by surprise- and by the sheer force of either fate or insane coincidence, I was able to get the whole breaching sequence in frame AND in focus without even thinking about it! How wild is that? Every time I see this photo, the memory of that moment takes my breath away and exhilarates me. I've seen a lot of whales jump out of the water, but that was truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment for me.
